The Los Angeles Times is reporting that Tom Hanks (“Hanks”) was one of four victims of fraud. According to the article, Hanks’ insurance agent was indicted for mail fraud in connection with the over-billing of Hanks and other clients. The insurance agent allegedly obtained insurance products for his clients, over-billed his clients for the products and created fraudulent invoices that inflated the premiums due. The insurance broker is claimed to have pocketed $800,000 from 1998 to August 2011.
