NYT Reports that SEC is Investigating Peter J. Eichler and Aletheia Research and Management Concerning Allegations of Improper Trading Practices

The New York Times is reporting that the Securities and Exchange Commission is investigating Peter J. Eichler Jr. (“Eichler”), a Los Angeles money manager, whose firm Aletheia Research and Management (“Altheia”) filed for bankruptcy over the weekend.  According to the Times, Alethia primarily manages stock portfolios for pension funds, foundations and wealthy families. The investigation reportedly concerns alleged “improper trading practices.”
